The World’s Most Coveted Pepper. A Brand It Deserves.
Concept phase · No final name yet · Same development company as Elephant Cashews
The Opening
Kampot pepper holds a Geographical Indication, a protected origin designation placing it in the same legal and commercial category as Champagne, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Darjeeling tea.
Recognized by the world’s finest kitchens as categorically superior, it commands a price premium of 5 to 10 times over commodity pepper.
It has never had a brand that matches its status.
Protected origin designations, one shelf.
The Gap
The same structural problem that Elephant Cashews was built to solve exists in the Kampot pepper market. Cambodia produces the raw material. The world buys it without knowing its name.
The premium that should flow back to Cambodian farmers and processors flows instead to intermediaries.
The Positioning Under Development
A Kampot pepper brand built for the shelves of Harrods, Dean & DeLuca, and the e-commerce platforms serving professional chefs and serious home cooks.
Not a souvenir. Not a supermarket spice rack product. A named, documented, GI-protected Cambodian pepper that belongs in the same conversation as Alleppey cardamom and Sichuan peppercorns.
In the Studio Now
What we’re working through.
01
Naming
The name must be ownable, phonetically accessible across English, French, and Japanese markets, and must signal premium origin without resorting to generic geographic descriptors already crowded with inferior product.
02
Positioning Relative to Elephant Cashews
Same company, same philosophy, different product category. The visual language must be distinct enough to stand alone but coherent enough to eventually share shelf space under a Kingdom of Cambodia platform brand.
03
Packaging Architecture
High-end glass jar or ceramic vessel, dark tones, minimal type, GI certification mark prominent. The product is the star.
04
Channel Strategy
Michelin-star restaurant supply, luxury food retail such as Harrods and Fauchon, specialty food e-commerce, premium gifting.
Brand Concept Principles · Shared with Elephant Cashews
Never cheap. Never touristy. Never an Asian souvenir. Photography: real fields, real farmers, real pepper harvest, morning light.
More production work lives in the Animation & Commercial practice.
